Why Do Rescues Have Adoption Fees?

Along with daily care costs, the adoption fees help Pen Pals Inc. cover vaccination and medical prep costs for the pets.

Adoption Fees:

Dogs

*Dogs can be adopted for a small donation of $125.00 - $175.00

 

Cats

*Cats can be adopted for a small donation of $75.00-$95.00

 

We offer low cost adoptions  because we operate in unison with local Police Departments, Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine, other volunteer Veterinarians, assistance from Department of Corrections & employees, Aides, and the community donations.

Adoption Inclusions:

Along with daily care costs, the adoption fees help Pen Pals Inc. cover vaccination and medical prep costs for the dogs. At adoption, Pen Pals Inc. dogs will be current on their vaccines and will have the following:

Dogs
  • Rabies (1 yr. or 3 yr.)
  • Distemper (DHLPP or DHLPP-C)
  • Bordetella
  • Worming
  • Lyme Vaccine (if relevant)
  • Altered - Females Spayed or Males Neutered
  • Microchipped
Cats
  • Rabies & FVRCP
  • Test for Feline Leukemia & AIDS
  • Worming
  • Fle/Ear Mite treatments
  • Altered - Females Spayed or Males Neutered
  • Microchipped
